Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All adult individuals; aged between 18 and 40 years; selected for the pre-season period at the time of the research

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals under 18 years of age; use of alcohol and/or illicit drugs; diagnoses of diagnosed inflammatory conditions; fibromyalgia; irritable bowel syndrome; use of supplements or anti-inflammatory drugs and/or antibiotics during the testing period or have an allergy/intolerance to turmeric.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate the biochemical marker Creatine kinase 7 days after the start of the intervention, measured by kinetic colorimetry in ng/mL.

Evaluate the biochemical marker lactate dehydrogenase 7 days after the start of the intervention, measured by kinetic colorimetry in IU/L.;Evaluate the biochemical marker aspartate transaminase at 7 days after the beginning of the intervention, measured by kinetic colorimetry in UI/L.;Evaluate the biochemical alanine aminotransferase at 7 days after the beginning of the intervention, measured by kinetic colorimetry in UI/L.;Evaluate the Muscle pain at 7 days after the beginning of the intervention, measured by a visual analogue scale (0 to 10; indicating 0 = no pain, 2 = mild, 4 = moderate, 6 = severe, 7 = very severe, 10 = the worst possible pain; Nosaka et al., 2002) after a standardized procedure performed by a trained physical therapist.;Evaluate the C-reactive protein at 7 days after the beginning of the intervention, measured by kinetic colorimetry in mg/dL.
