Interventions

The research will be done with 40 patients. Three samples will be taken in the oral cavity for microbiological analysis, and one will be given on the day of admission of the patient to the Intensive C
Elevate patients head 30 to 45? (if possible)
0.05% methylene blue will be dripped into the whole oral cavity with the aid of a spatula to remove the lateral walls of the mouth and tongue
Then the photosensitizing device will be configured in the following parameters: wavelength ? - 660nm, Power: 40 mW, Energy: 3.6J, Energy density: 90J / cm², Power density: 1000mW / cm²
Afterwards, 660nm laser goggles will be placed in the patient and the professional. Thus, the irradiation of the laser that will occur in the retromolar trine region will begin for 1.5 minutes with th

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Reduction of forming colony units (FCU) of pathogenic microorganisms, the numbers obtained will be analyzed using the ANOVA test. It is expected to present a statistically significant difference between the number of FCU before and after the intervention with photodynamic therapy (p < 0.001), and in the control group it is estimated that there is no significant difference between groups before and after P = 1.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcomes are not expected
