Eligibility

Age
8 Years to 14 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: A diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder; between 8 and 14 years old; both genders; patients from the reference unit for autism from Santa Casa of São Paulo; no severe behavioral problems

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Severe behavior problems that make data collection unfeasible

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Academic performance: it is expected that the experimental group will show improvements in academic performance (reading, writing, math) after attention training, in contrast to the control group. School performance will be measured with the School Performance Test (TDE).;Attention: it is expected that the intervention group will show improvements in attention following training, in contrast to the control group. Attention will be measured with the Attention Cancelation Test (TAC) and SNAP-IV questionnaire.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Cognition: it is expected the experimental group will show improvements in cognitive scores after the intervention, in comparison to the control group. Cognition will be measured with the Raven Colored Progressive Matrices test.;Behavior: it is expected the intervention group will show improved behavior after the intervention, in comparison to the control group. Behavior will be evaluated using the questionnaires:
