Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Women over 18 years of age who underwent surgery to treat breast cancer with axillary dissection, who have preserved motricity (nerve and muscle functions) in the lower and upper limbs.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Women with metastatic diseases; breast reconstruction; previously diagnosed lymphedema; long thoracic nerve injury; contraindication to physical exercise; previous motor deficiency; arrhythmias and decompensated heart disease; allergy to lymphoscintigraphy contrast.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
At the end of the treatment period, it is expected that the association of progressive resistance exercises, which is currently recommended by the literature as a treatment composition for lymphedema, associated with photobiomodulation, which presents promising possibilities, will prove to be an effective therapeutic option for the prevention of lymphedema. It is expected the formation of new lymphatic vessels and improvement of lymphatic flow in the group submitted to Photobiomodulation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
At the end of the intervention, it is expected that the lymphatic flow will increase with resistance exercises; Formation of new lymphatic vessels through the application of low power laser; Better quality of life scores in women who did not have lymphedema after 18 months of surgery.
