The study has a single group, the type before and after, and will be the same throughout the period. The expected number of participants will be 30 patients with gastrointestinal cancer undergoing che
the second and third stage will be the application of the intervention with an educational pamphlet that addresses the possible symptoms that the patient undergoing chemotherapy treatment may experien
during the fourth chemotherapy session, the instruments of the first stage will be reapplied.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed with AC with gastrointestinal cancer aged 18 years or older undergoing antineoplastic chemotherapy after a surgical procedure treated at the Chemotherapy Center of the Hospital de Clínicas, Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro (CQT / HC / UFTM).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who underwent previous antineoplastic chemotherapy treatment; change in chemotherapy treatment during the study, those who are unable to maintain a dialogue and do not have clinical conditions to respond to the proposed instruments.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Presentation of the expected outcome: finding in this study a self-image score with increasing distress, verified by the BIS Body Image Scale. Answers will be compared before and after the educational intervention.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to find in this study a low self-esteem score, verified by the Rosenberg EAR Scale. Answers will be compared before and after the educational intervention.;Presentation of the expected outcome: find in this study a score with a lower level of life expectancy, verified by Herth's Hope instrument. Answers will be compared before and after the educational intervention.
