This is a two-arm, double-blind, randomized controlled clinical study. Experimental group: 28 elderly people with Parkinson's Disease who will perform an exercise program involving the Square Step Exe

Age
60 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Be 60 years of age or older; both sexes; live in Porto Alegre; be available to participate in the program on the established days and times; having been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, stages I, II or III, according to the Hoehn Yahr scale; have signed informed consent for the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Have physical limitations that make it impossible to perform the proposed exercises; have any clinical condition that contraindicates physical exercise; suffer from severe cognitive impairment determined by a score less than12 on the Mini-Mental State Examination; disabling pain

MeasureTime frame
It is expected that regular participation in exercises involving the Square-Stepping Exercise will promote improvement in gait of elderly individuals living with Parkinson's Disease assessed by the three meter walking Test, after 8 weeks of training

It is expected that regular participation in exercises involving the Square-Stepping Exercise will promote improvement in the functionality of elderly individuals living with Parkinson's Disease assessed by the Timed-Up and Go Test, after 8 weeks of training
