Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 45 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The sample of this study will be for convenience and will consist of individuals of both sexes; aged between 18-45 years; body mass index less than 30 kg/m²; with no history of other injuries in the lower limbs; without acute ankle sprains ( minimum three months prior to the collection); who do not participate in other rehabilitation programs; and who report the presence of the following criteria: having a history of at least one ankle sprain associated with pain requiring a change in gait pattern; avoiding weight bearing on the foot affected for at least one day; present a feeling of weakness, pain or instability that appeared after the traumatic ankle event; present a score less than or equal to 24 on the Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals who are unable to attend the reassessments (cannot be contacted or have an injury that prevents the proposed tests from being carried out) and who initiate some other type of treatment after the start of the study will be excluded.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate postural control by measuring the total average velocity, area and standard deviation of the amplitude of displacement of the center of pressure of the force platform;Evaluate dynamic stability through the modified Star Excursion Balance Test, using the composite score of the lower limbs;Evaluate functionality through the Foot and Ankle Ability Measure questionnaire

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate ankle dorsiflexion range of motion using an inclinometer;Evaluate the retention capacity of the results achieved through the reassessment of the outcomes (functionality, static postural control, dynamic stability and ankle dorsiflexion range of motion) 6 months after the end of the intervention period;Evaluate passive ankle stiffness using goniometry
