Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients (160) included in the CARDEC-3 (Caries Detection in Children - 3) study (Moro et al., 2020) were invited to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children with health problems or whose parents are illiterate or do not accept to participate in the study.

Impact of different digital methods of oral health education in the control of dental caries, verified through the evaluation of the caries experience assessed by the CPO-D index (number of decayed, lost and restored teeth) of the participants after 12 months of access to applications, it is expected to maintain the CPO-D found initially (no record of new decayed, missing or filled teeth)

MeasureTime frame
Perception and cost-benefit of different digital methods of oral health education in the control of dental caries; participants' perception measured through a visual analog scale; for cost-benefit assessment, the analyses will be based on the patient's preference assessment, following the willingness to pay principle (Miller et al., 2011). We expect the digital brochure to be more cost-effective than the augmented reality app, although are expected the participants to have a good understanding of both methods.
