Interventions

Clinical, four-armed, double-blind, randomized controlled study about the influence of mandibular bone resorption on masticatory performance and oral health quality of life in complete denture wearers
without adhesive, n=10) and resorbed mandibular ridges (with adhesive, n=10
without adhesive, n=10). Evaluations of masticatory performance will be conducted by the sieves method and oral health quality of life application of specific questionnaire oral health impact profile

Age
40 Years to 90 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adults ndividuals; both genders; bimaxillary edentulous; aged 40 to 90 years; both genders; users of conventional complete dentures; requiring replacement of dentures; receptives; mentally agiles; good understanding of speaking Portuguese; mandibular ridges with normal or resorbed volume; normal amount and quality of saliva; no previous experience of denture adhesive; new dentures considered satisfactory

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Debilitating systemic diseases; pathological changes in the oral tissues; neuromuscular impairment; temporomandibular disorders
