Interventions

They will be randomized and submitted to one of three intervention groups, namely: Acupuncture
Acupuncture + Multicomponent physical exercise
Multicomponent physical exercise. Experimental group Acupuncture: 20 elderly people with chronic low back pain will receive weekly acupuncture interventions, over 10 weeks, at the following points: VG

Eligibility

Age
60 Years to 85 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: elderly, of both sexes, with preserved cognitive status tested by the MMSE. Age between 60 and 85 years. Presence of Chronic Low Back Pain, defined as a complaint of pain in the lumbar region below the 12th thoracic vertebra, with or without radiation, and lasting more than 6 months, with a moderate to severe degree of intensity, tested by the Visual Analogue Pain Scale.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: missing two consecutive intervention sessions or three interspersed. underwent acupuncture treatment in the last 6 months. present injuries or neurological disorders that compromise walking and exercise performance. have tumors and are undergoing cancer treatment; have nerve compression caused by spinal pathologies, trauma or tumors; have bone or spinal cord infections and ankylosing spondylitis.

MeasureTime frame
Expected Outcome 1 - Decrease in low back pain, assessed by the Visual Analogue Pain Scale and the Geriatric Pain scale at the time of evaluation and will be evaluated at the end of the interventions.;Expected Outcome 2 - Improved pressure tolerance in the lumbar region, assessed by pressure algometer at the time of assessment, at the 5th week of intervention, and at the time of reassessment.

MeasureTime frame
Improvement of functional independence in activities of daily living, measured through the assessment of functional independence scales such as Lawton and Barthel, in the assessment and reassessed after the intervention protocol.
