Mental and behavioral disorders due to cocaine use - dependency syndrome

Interventions

The 120 subjects (60 in the control group and 60 in the experimental group) will be paired by gender, age, mental problem, and drug use and will be randomly allocated to each arm of the study. The con

Age
18 Years to 65 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: adult individuals of both sexes; with at least 18 years of age; able to speak and understand the Portuguese language; diagnosed with alcohol use disorders (F.10); marijuana (F.12); cocaine / crack (F.14); ecstasy / LSD (F.16); use of multiple drugs (F.19); were followed up by a multiprofessional team of mental health from the Center for Psychosocial Care Alcohol and Drugs

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: individuals under the age of 18 and over 65, the edentulous, suffering from systemic diseases or severely decompensated psychoses, in addition to those who did not consent

Expected outcome 1 - Maintenance of the clinical condition of the dentition in relation to the history of dental caries determined by the CPO - D index (decayed, lost and filled) by dental examination at the beginning of the study, after 3 and 6 months of follow-up..;Expected outcome 2 - Improvement of the clinical condition of the gingiva and periodontium (reduction of gingival bleeding, dental calculus) determined by the Community Periodontal Index (CPI) by dental examination at the beginning of the study, after 3 and 6 months of follow-up.;Expected outcome 3 - Improvement of the clinical index of oral hygiene frequency (reduction of dental biofilm) determined by the Biofilm Index through dental examination at the beginning of the study, after 3 and 6 months of follow-up.

Expected outcome 1 - increase in self-reported measures of knowledge and information on self-care in oral health (care of teeth, causes and prevention of oral cancer), verified using a personal structured questionnaire; at the beginning of the study, at 3 months and 6 months of follow-up.;Expected outcome 2 - Maintenance or decrease of self-reported frequencies related to additive behaviors (tobacco consumption, alcoholic drinks and illicit drugs) verified by a structured questionnaire personalized; at the beginning of the study, at 3 months and 6 months of follow-up.;Expected outcome 3 - Increase in self-efficacy for night tooth brushing ability verified by means of a score composed of 6 items scored on a 5-point Likert scale; at the beginning of the study, at 3 months and 6 months of follow-up.;Expected outcome 4 - Maintenance or increment for daily frequency of self-reported dental brushing verified through a single question with response options on a 5-point Likert scale; at baseline, at 3 months and 6 months of follow-up.;Expected outcome 5 - Maintenance or increment of the self-reported measure of motivation for a frequency of 3 daily dental brushings, verified by a visual analog scale ranging from 0 to 10, at the beginning of the study, at 3 months and 6 months of follow-up.
