Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Moderate or high levels of anxiety; no cognitive impairment; assessed by the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE); no hemodynamic instability; willingness to participate in all intervention sessions; no severe sensory alterations

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Elderly individuals with severe communication impairments; Diagnosis of advanced neurodegenerative diseases; Previous and regular participation in art therapy practices; Under pharmacological treatment for anxiety; With severe behavioral changes

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected that anxiety levels will decrease in elderly people in the intervention group after art therapy sessions conducted through free painting. Data were collected one week after the intervention.
