This is a cluster randomized trial designed to evaluate the effectiveness of a training program for Primary Health Care professionals to carry out child development surveillance using the instrument p

Age
No minimum to 3 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children aged 0 to 3 years; both sexes; residents of the municipalities of Louveira or Jundiaí; attending the Basic Health Unit (BHU) for health follow-up; having had a consultation or home visit with a health professional from their reference Basic Health Unit (BHU) in the last three months. The intervention will be applied exclusively to Primary Health Care professionals, not to the children.

It is expected to find an improvement in child development surveillance in a period of 3 months after the intervention with the health professionals, based on the assessment of a minimum detectable effect of 22.4 percentage points in completing the child development milestones in the Child Health Handbook—

It is expected to find an increase in child development surveillance in a period of 3 months after the intervention with health professionals, based on the caregivers' report on carrying out the child development assessment during the Primary Health Care Unit (PHC) appointments and dialogue between professional and caregiver about the development of the child—
