Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Volunteers aged 6 to 11 years with a clinical diagnosis of unilateral or bilateral posterior crossbite and/or maxillary atresia; Class I or Class II dental malocclusion; first or intertransitional period of mixed dentition; absence of extensive caries lesions and periodontal disease, good general and oral health; absence of previous orthodontic treatment
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Volunteers with conditions that compromise oral health at the time of the initial evaluation; with systemic diseases or general health conditions that may interfere with treatment or clinical evaluations; with a history of previous orthodontic treatment; with craniofacial anomalies, genetic syndromes, or cleft lip and palate; continuous or recent use of medications
