Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Vital and healthy upper teeth. Absence of dental caries. No visible defects of the enamel. Absence of orthodontic appliance. Good systemic conditions. Healthy oral soft tissues. Non smokers. Patients who have never performed bleaching treatment.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Conoid teeth. Direct and indirect restorations in the upper anterior region. Adverse reactions to peroxide. Use of opiates or drugs that influence the neurosensory response. Use of pacemaker. Presence of dental pigmentation (tetracycline, trauma, fluorosis and unknown etiology). Neurological diseases. Chronic or acute diseases. Dentinal exposure

MeasureTime frame
Alteration of Delta E values, obtained from the Vita Easyshade Advance digital spectrophotometer (Vita Zahnfabrik, Bad Säckingen, Germany). The comparison will be made through the readings with the initial reading, by the calculation below: E = [(L *) 2 + (a *) 2 + (b *) 2] 1/2. The color measurements will be performed at the 6 pre-set times (initial, 7, 14 and 21 days of treatment and 7 and 14 after bleaching treatment).;Difference of the values of the dental sensitivity among the semi-dental arches. Measurements will be performed using the TSA II (Medoc TSA II NeurosensoryAnalyzer, Israel) neuro-sensory analysis equipment which has a delicate intraoral oral thermometer that will be positioned in the flatter region of the buccal surface of the teeth 13,12,11 , 21, 22 and 23 of the volunteers. For the cold sensation threshold (CST), the neuro-sensory analysis equipment, TSA II, will be used in the "Limits" function.

Change in dental sensitivity between treatments. In order to evaluate the sensitivity generated during the bleaching treatment in the 6 pre-established times, the device that enables the use of the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) in a computerized manner will be used. For the test, a constant thermal stimulation will be used in the tooth in question (stimulus temperature of 0 ° C). The volunteer will record the intensity of discomfort felt, which can vary from 0 to 10, through a manual control potentiometer. Volunteer responses are synchronized and available in the TSA-II program for analysis. - Dental Sensitivity Analysis The dental sensitivity will be analyzed for its presence and intensity, in the times previously, through questionnaires elaborated by the researchers (figure 1). To do so, using the visual analog method, using a scale from 0 to 10, patients will be questioned about the intensity of the discomfort caused by the treatment, being set the value 0 for patients who did not present any pain symptoms and 10 when sensitivity occurred severe Faced with the presence of sensitivity, the patient was questioned as to the hemiarco in which it occurred, and this information was duly noted.;Change in color scale of whitened teeth. The visual evaluation of the color change will be performed in the office, in each service session. To this end, the Vitapan Classical Shade Guide (Vita Zahnfabrik, Bad Säckingen, Germany) color scale, organized from B1 (lighter color) to C4 (darker color), will be used, assigning scores 1 (B1) to 16 (C4) (Machado et al, 2013). The only operator (MOG) with clinical experience and properly calibrated will be responsible for the evaluations.
