Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome: The number of patients who report sensitivity after dental bleaching will be convert into a percentage of patients with pain, called absolute risk of tooth sensitivity.;Intesity of tooth sensitivity: will be evaluated using a 5-point numerical scale (NRS 0-4) and a visual analogue scale (VAS 1-10). It will be presented as mean and standard deviation during the three weeks of bleaching procedure.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Aiming bleaching efficacy, teeth shade of each participant will be evaluated at the beginning of the study, during treatment and one month after the end of dental bleaching. These data will be registered through the subjective and objective evaluation. For the subjective evaluation, two color shade guides will be used: Vita Classical (Vita Zahnfabrik) and Vita Bleachedguide 3D-MASTER (Vita Zahnfabrik). A spectrophotometer will be used for objective analysis (Easyshade, Vita Zahnfabrik). Data will be presented as color variation at different times.;The aesthetic self-perception will be assessed at the beginning and end of the study through a PIDAQ questionnaire (Psicossocial Impact of Dental Aesthetics Questionnarie) checking the existence of variation in responses before and after tooth whitening.
