Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: As for the inclusion criteria, individuals aged 18 years or older, with cognitive ability to answer the questions, with intestinal ostomy during the data collection period, with surgery time bigger or equal 12 months and with telephone contact were selected.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals who did not complete the instrument, people under the influence of alcohol / illicit drugs during the interview and people deprived of their liberty through the prison system were excluded.

Increase in the level of adaptation of the people participating in the intervention group, verified through the Scale of verification of the level of adaptation of the person with ostomy, from the finding of a statistically significant variation (p-Value <0.05) with an increase in average total of 72.4 in the pre-test to 82.9 in the pos-test.
