Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 50 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with hospitalization period of at least two days; age between 18 and 50 years; both sexes, sensitivity and cognitive preserved; Glasgow Coma Scale 15; hemodynamically stable; adequate pulmonary gas exchange; Inspired fraction of oxygen less than or equal to 60% and positive pressure at the end of the expiration less than or equal to 10 cmH2O with peripheral oxygen saturation greater than 88%; Sign the Free and Informed Consent Form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnant patients; change in sensitivity; cognitive alteration; shocks; renal support; thrombocytopenia; deep vein thrombosis; agitation and confusion.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Progression of the peripheral muscle strength, determined by the dynamometry measurement at the beginning and at the end of the study.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Direct relationship of respiratory muscle strength progression measured by manovacuometry with improvement of peripheral muscle strength by dynamometry performed at the beginning and end of the study; Progression of the Glasgow Coma Scale alert level at the beginning and end of the study; Increase of functional independence by the scale of Functional Independence at the beginning and end of the study; Decreased hospitalization time of the intervention group compared to the control group.
