Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 90 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Individuals suffered a stroke and were discharged from an acute stroke unit; over 18 years old; be able to walk independently with velocity greater than or equal 0.8 meter per second; absence of cognitive identified by the Mini Mental State Examination.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with aphasia or other neurological condition not correlated with stoke; unstable cardiovascular condition or unstable medical conditions.

Design outcomes

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome 1:Increase of the level of physical activity in steps per day measured by accelerometer ACTIGRPH wGT3X-BT (Actigraph GT3X+, Pensacola, FL, USA), before, 3 months and 6 months after the intervention (follow up).

Expected outcome 1:Increase of the aerobic capacity measured by 6 minute walk test, before, 3 months and 6 months after the intervention (follow up).;Expected outcome 2: Improve of quality of life measured by EuroQol-5D, before, 3 months and 6 months after the intervention (follow up).;Expected outcome 3:Improve of self-efficacy for exercise measured by self-efficacy for exercise scale, before, 3 months and 6 months after the intervention (follow up).;Expected outcome 4:Increase of the functional mobility measured by 10 meter walk test, before, 3 months and 6 months after the intervention (follow up).;Expected outcome 5: Increase of the level of participation measured by Impact on Participation and Autonomy Questionnaire, before, 3 months and 6 months after the intervention (follow up).;Expected outcome 6: Decrease of the depression profile measured by Geriatric Depression Scale, before, 3 months and 6 months after the intervention (follow up).;Expected outcome 7: Increase of participation measured by Assessement of Life Habits, before, 3 months and 6 months after the intervention (follow up).
