Conditions

Dentin sensitivity to tooth whitening Dentin Sensitivity: C07.793.266.

Interventions

About 40 patients with at least one third molar extraction, with dental saturation grade A3, will be selected, divided into four groups according to the use of whitening gel and desensitizing agent em
DOZ-SC - Potassium nitrate desensitizer with 16 ppm ozonated sodium fluoride without application of the whitening gel
DCC - Ozone-free sodium fluoride potassium nitrate desensitizer and bleaching gel application
and DOZ-CL - 16 ppm ozonated sodium fluoride potassium nitrate desensitizer with bleaching gel application. The office bleaching will be performed with 35% hydrogen peroxide in a single clinical sessi
O-AR: application of 16 ppm ozonated water to the surface, followed by application of the adhesive system and composite resin. The extraction of teeth will be performed 24 hours after the application

Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 60 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The third molars must be sound; and with initial color of teeth A2 or more saturated.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnant and lactating patients; patients who had teeth with severe internal discoloration (resulting from tetracycline stains, fluorosis or endodontic treatment); patients with teeth under potential conditions for sensitivity, such as gingival recession, dentin exposure and poor enamel formation; patients who reported sensitivity already existing at the time of the anamnesis.

Design outcomes

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Decreased intensity of sensitivity after tooth whitening using 5% potassium nitrate desensitizer + 2% ozonated sodium fluoride.;Increased bond strength of composite resins after previous use of ozonated water on the dental surface.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Decreased dentin sensitivity during and after tooth whitening through previous use of ozonated desensitizer; increased bond strength of composite resins.
