Eligibility

Age
40 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Individuals aged 40 to 80 years; of any gender; diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis, whose clinical stage allows for the implementation of the exercise protocols proposed in this research

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Subjects with comorbidities that limit the performance of the proposed exercise; subjects using any resource that alters body thermogenesis within 24 hours of the assessment; subjects engaging in physical activity less than 2 hours prior to the assessment

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Assess the changes in the inflammatory process of the knee region, resulting in alterations in temperature and pain

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Expect to find temperature differences in the knees of people with and without osteoarthritis after an exercise session; difference in knee temperatures after performing open kinetic chain exercises and closed kinetic chain exercises; painful perception in individuals with and without osteoarthritis after a resisted exercise session
