Age
60 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age over 60 years. Elderly men and women. Body mass index below 30. Present physical conditions to carry out the exercise protocol. Have not been performing any regular physical activity for at least three months. Without a history of practice competitive sports throughout life. Achieve a score equal to or greater than 24 on the Mini-Mental State Examination. Achieve a score of up to 9.11 on the Baecke Physical Activity Questionnaire, the cut-off point adopted for low intensity of daily physical activity

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Use of antidepressants, antiepileptics, anticonvulsants, psychoactive drugs or other medications that act on the Nervous System. In use of antimicrobials for 30 days. In use of chemotherapy/immunotherapeutics In use of probiotics. In use of metformin and or proton pump inhibitor. On enteral diet. Recently hospitalized for 30 days. Acute or chronic bowel conditions (diarrhea, inflammatory bowel disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome). Bariatric disease. Chronic diseases (diabetes). Cancer. Rheumatological diseases. Neurodegenerative diseases. Autoimmune diseases

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to find improvement in cognition, verified by the following tests: Stroop Victoria Test with an increase in the number of words verbalized during the time of the test. Digits Subtest of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS III), it is expected that elderly people will be able to verbalize a greater number of correctly repeated digits. Verbal Memory Test will check how much information the elderly were able to retain to verbalize later. Serial Reaction Task, it will be observed whether the reaction time to perform the task will be shorter than before physical training. Trial Making Test (TMT) will check whether the test execution time will decrease. Subjective Memory Perception (MAC-Q) will assess how much memory is affected. Biochemical markers (TNF-a, BDNF and Interleukin 6) will be measured using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technique (ELISA).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Assess dysbiosis by collecting a fecal sample, as instructed by the laboratory. DNA extraction will be carried out using the ZymoBIOMICS DNA Miniprep kit, followed by library preparation and DNA sequencing and bioinformatics analysis and taxonomic assignments.
