Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Individuals a history of shoulder pain after trauma and diagnosed with rotator cuff injury by an orthopedic shoulder surgeon through clinical examination and confirmed by magnetic resonance imaging
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Fractures or pre-existing shoulder conditions such as adhesive capsulitis; joint instability; and labral lesion were excluded; as were those who were absent at any stage of the study

| To evaluate shoulder function after rotator cuff repair using the Western Ontario Rotator Cuff Index (WORC) questionnaire, which assesses the Quality of Life of individuals with rotator cuff injuries. It was expected to find lower score values at three months and at one-year follow-up in the experimental group that performed scapular rehabilitation for six weeks preoperatively.;We found that in the functional analysis of total WORC in the experimental group, after one year, the values were lower than those of the control group, statistically significant with p value less than 0.05. The WORC result also showed that after three months the experimental group presented values lower than the control group for physical symptoms, work and emotions with p value less than 0.05. Still, after one year, the experimental group presented score values lower than the control group for physical symptoms, sports / recreation, lifestyle, emotions and total WORC score, statistically significant with p value less than 0.05. | — |

| To evaluate, in the postoperative follow-up, the pain parameter using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), among the experimental groups, which performed scapular rehabilitation in the preoperative arthroscopic repair of rotator cuff injury, and the control that did not perform preoperative scapular rehabilitation. We expected to find lower values for pain in the experimental group than the control in the evaluated follow-up.;It was observed that the VAS value in the experimental group showed a significant decrease between the preoperative period and after one year with p value lower than 0.05. In the control group, there was a significant decrease in pain between three months and one year with lower p value 0.05 postoperatively.;To evaluate postoperative shoulder joint range of motion (ROM) parameters using goniometry between the experimental groups, which performed scapular rehabilitation in the preoperative period of arthroscopic repair of rotator cuff injury, and the control that did not perform preoperative scapular rehabilitation. It was expected to find higher ROM values in the experimental group at the evaluated follow-up.;Regarding the preoperative period, flexion and external rotation increased significantly in both groups after three months with p value lower than 0.05. Abduction was significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group with p value 0.05 after three months and one-year follow-up.
