Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Over 18 years of age, able to voluntarily respond to the research protocol; Individuals with mandible fracture diagnosed by CT.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with neurological alterations that compromise oral motor functions or cognitive functions; With dentofacial anomalies; Submitted to orthognathic surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy for head and neck lesions previously; Have fractures of other bones of the face or skull; Internships in an Intensive Care Unit; Submitted to surgery before the first evaluation; With need of maxilomandibular fixation;

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Progression of the oral opening, determined in millimeters, through the measurement with a pachymeter at the beginning of the study, after one day, one month and three months after surgery

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Progression of the food consistency of oral intake, described from a standardized scale, in one day, one month and three months after surgery
