This is a two-arm, double-blind, randomized controlled clinical trial. The sample size will be calculated within the study, but it is estimated, based on a similar study, that there will be 25 volunte

60 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Volunteers aged 60 years or older and residing in the community, have a medical diagnosis of dementia (of any subtype, except dementia with Lewy bodies or secondary to Parkinson's disease) documented in the medical record, mild level of dementia (CDR 1), have a caregiver willing and able to act as an informant for the participant, do not have physical disabilities that prevent the performance of functional tests in the evaluation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: volunteers diagnosed with a severe neurological or orthopedic condition or other comorbidities that prevent participation in the intervention (exercises)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
to evaluate the effects of the two physical exercise protocols on the production of myokines, with the hypothesis that one of the protocols will be superior to the other in increasing the concentration of specific circulating myokines

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
evaluate the effects of the two physical exercise protocols on cognition, with the hypothesis that physical exercise will lead to a significant improvement in standardized cognitive test scores, in neuropsychiatric symptoms, with the hypothesis that there will be a reduction in the frequency and severity of symptoms measured by validated scales, in functional capacity, with the hypothesis that participants will demonstrate improvement in the performance of functional tests, with the hypothesis that the intervention with physical exercises will result in a significant decrease in the risk of falls
