Conditions

Interventions

The sample will be composed of 30 smokers of both sexes, invited from the local media and who meet the following inclusion criteria: (1) smoking at least 10 cigarettes / day
(2) age between 18 and 60 years
(3) clinically stable individuals with no change in medications for at least 30 days. The exclusion criteria will be: (1) pre-existing chronic cardiorespiratory diseases (arrhythmias, uncontrolled hyp
(2) individuals with pathological conditions that prevent the performance of physical exercise (orthopedic or neurological diseases)
(3) an individual with another pathological condition that may influence the systemic inflammatory process (metabolic or rheumatic diseases)
(4) use of nicotine replacement medications and / or antidepressants as an aid in smoking cessation
(5) Abuse of alcohol
(6) pregnant women current or intending to become pregnant during the exercise protocol
and (7) participants from another systematic exercise program for at least 20 minutes a day, three days a week for three months.  Control Group: A protocol adopted by previous studies using the strate

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Eligible participants should meet the following inclusion criteria: smoking at least 10 cigarettes / day; age between 18 and 60 years; clinically stable individuals with no change in medications for at least 30 days; desire to stop smoking.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Smokers who have pre-existing chronic cardiorespiratory diseases (arrhythmias, uncontrolled hypertension, chronic cough, chronic bronchitis, pulmonary emphysema or FEV1 / FVC <70%); individuals with pathological conditions that prevent the performance of physical exercise (orthopedic or neurological diseases); individuals with another pathological condition that may influence the systemic inflammatory process (metabolic or rheumatic diseases); use of nicotine replacement drugs and / or antidepressants as an aid in smoking cessation; Alcohol abuse; pregnant women current or intending to become pregnant during the exercise protocol; and participants from another systematic exercise program for at least 20 minutes a day, three days a week for three months.
