Age
3 Years to 12 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants of both sexes; diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder confirmed by a professional not affiliated with the research team; age between 3 and 12 years; availability of a finalized diagnostic report confirming Autism Spectrum Disorder prior to the beginning of the evaluations; written informed consent provided by parents or legal guardians

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Absence of a confirmed Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis or diagnostic report; use of pacemakers or other electronic implants including cochlear implants; presence of metal implants or plates in the skull or body; history of epilepsy or seizures; neurological comorbidities such as brain tumors or intracranial infections; history of brain surgery; severe cardiac disease

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Reduction of cerebral hyperactivity measured by electroencephalography in children with autism spectrum disorder after transcranial electrical stimulation including transcranial direct current stimulation or transcranial random noise stimulation with comparison between baseline measurements collected before the intervention and measurements collected after the intervention period

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Changes in behavioral and communication outcomes including reduction of hyperactivity and repetitive behaviors increase in attention and social interaction improvement in speech evaluation of visual preference for facial expressions using eye tracking analysis of sociodemographic characteristics and assessment of behavioral patterns and maintenance of effects up to eight months after transcranial electrical stimulation
