Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Children aged 5 to 7 years; of both sexes; who require surgical intervention (adenotonsillectomy); presenting with maxillary atresia; and with unilateral or bilateral posterior crossbite, whether apparent or functional.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Children requiring other modalities of interceptive orthodontic treatment during the experimental period; patients using medications that alter bone metabolism; patients with a body mass index greater than twenty-five; patients with craniofacial malformations; and patients with cognitive impairments
