Conditions

Eligible participants are all 18-year-old adults with two or more teeth decay.

Interventions

Eleven female and male patients between 18 and 60 years old, who need dental restoration, in at least two posterior teeth, will be submitted to a refitting procedure with indirect dental ceramic resto
Group2: 11 teeth treated with lithium dislicate ceramic.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Presence of caries injury; defective amalgam or composite resin restorations in the posterior dentition; suitable for restoration with ceramic onlays; presence of antagonistic tooth; over 18 years; good general and oral health; absence of orthodontic appliances; absence of malocclusion and dental malformation; absence of non-carious cervical lesions; vital posterior teeth and proven periodontal health.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Absence of caries lesion; suitable old restorations; little coronary destruction; absence of antagonistic tooth; less than 18 years; uncontrolled systemic impairment; orthodontic appliance users; presence of malocclusion and dental malformation; presence of non-carious cervical lesions; posterior teeth treated endodontically and periodontal health compromised.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Absence of postoperative dentinal sensitivity in experimental groups 1 and 2, verified through sensitivity tests (thermal and mechanical stimuli), after the first consultation. There is no statistical difference in the results of restorative treatment in any of the groups evaluated, verified through clinical evaluation.
