Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Female individuals; Score pain at least three on the numerical pain scale; Not undergoing physiotherapy treatment for at least sixty days

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: History of epilepsy; Metal devices implanted in the skull; Significant psychiatric or neurological illnesses that prevent the patient from responding to the study assessment instruments; Being pregnant; Having undergone some type of infiltration in the knee joint in the last three months

It is expected that the combination of transcranial direct current stimulation with physical exercise may present differences in pain outcomes in patients with knee osteoarthritis. This outcome will be measured using the Numeric rating scale (NRS), which is widely used in research and clinical practice. It consists of 11 items, where 0 is considered no pain and 10 is the worst pain possible.

It is expected that the combination of transcranial direct current stimulation with physical exercise may present differences in physical function outcomes in patients with knee osteoarthritis. This outcome will be measured using the sitting test. Step climb test, consisting of an activity test of ascending and descending stairs, strength and balance of the lower body, and must have adequate step heights (between 16-20 cm). The 6-minute walk test, although it was originally designed to assess the physical capacity of patients with cardiopulmonary diseases, this test has also been used to measure the walking capacity in patients with motor limitations;It is expected that the combination of transcranial direct current stimulation with physical exercise may present differences in the global perception of change in patients with knee osteoarthritis. The assessment of the global perception of change will be carried out using the “Patient Global Impression of Change” instrument in the version adapted for Brazilian Portuguese, consisting of a Likert-type scale, which varies from 1 to 7, with: 1 – no change ( or worsening of the condition) and 7 – much better, and with a considerable improvement that made all the difference
