Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected to find differences in the areas under the curve (AUC) for glycemia and insulin after standard meal consumption. Intervention trial were designed to have 90% power to detect a clinical difference of 15% incremental AUC (IAUC) between the test and reference meal (a = 0.05). A total of 15 volunteers were required for the reference and test meals to achieve the aforementioned power and clinical difference. Thus, a minimum of 15 participants were recruited for each study because each participant was a control of themselves.
