Eligibility

Age
20 Years to 79 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 155 patients of both sexes; aged 20 and 79; for at least three months in haemodialysis treatment; sedentary; kidney therapy performed through access fistula; and adequacy of treatment of haemodialysis (Kt/V>1.2.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patients with disability and severe orthopedic impairments; acute myocardial infarction history in the last six months; recent hospitalization (<3 months; decompensated diabetes; consuming vitamin supplement; which have thyroid dysfunction; and patients who have food intolerance baru.

Primary

Difference muscle mass average of at least 0.8kg assessed by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) after 12 weeks of intervention

Improved functional capacity determined by the 5% reduction in time spent on the test "Time up go".
