Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Be enrolled in any of the schools in which the data was collected; and have no illness or limitation that would make it impossible to watch the video or expository classroom

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Have leave foreseen for the next 15 days (since the post test was also applied 15 days after the educational interventions); not complete the data collection instrument and do not have the physical conditions to participate in the practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome expected 1: Larger medians in the post-test after 15 days, with statistical significance, of theoretical answers from deaf students who attended the educational video, when compared to deaf students who attended an expositive class, measured by a validated instrument for knowledge evaluation which was answered by the participants in the pre- and post-test measurements. For the intergroup comparison of the numerical variables, the Mann-Whitney test was used and the chi-square tests for Pearson independence and Fisher's exact test were used for the categorical variables. The significance level of 5% and the 95% confidence interval were adopted for all tests.;Predicted primary outcome 2: Highest median, post-test after 15 days, with statistical significance, of practical correctness, measured by instrument filling by evaluating teachers who watched the filming of the practices performed by the participants in the pre- and post-test measurements. For the intergroup comparison of the numerical variables, the Mann-Whitney test was used and the chi-square tests for Pearson independence and Fisher's exact test were used for the categorical variables. The significance level of 5% and the 95% confidence interval were adopted for all tests.;Effectively observed outcome 1: in the post-test after 15 days the intervention group presented higher medians of theoretical correctness (knowledge) than the control group, with statistical significance (p=0.026).;Effectively observed outcome 2: in the post-test after 15 days the intervention group presented higher medians of practical correctness (ability) than the control group, with statistical significance (p=0.014).
