Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Clinical and laboratory diagnosis of controlled systemic arterial hypertension, being a practitioner of some regular physical activity, and being between 65 and 80 years of age.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Changes, such as heart disease, pulmonary malformations; changes in the central nervous system and / or neurological syndrome; use of drugs that may interfere with the study participants' autonomic responses; patients with a history of cardiovascular disease; patients with any medical condition that makes it impossible to adhere to the protocol or safely execute

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate cardiac autonomic modulation using a heart rate monitor (Polar RS800cx) in elderly patients with systemic arterial hypertension undergoing low-intensity aerobic exercise. It is expected to find an increased heart rate variability, verified through the 30-second RMSSD, calculated with the aid of the Kubios HRV analysis software – version 2.0. For this, the HR behavior will be recorded beat-to-beat throughout the experimental protocol, and before using the RR series captured for data analysis, a digital filtering complemented by manual will be performed, to eliminate premature ectopic beats and artifacts, and only sets with more than 95% sinus beats will be included in the study. The RMSSD index corresponds to the square root of the sum of the square of differences between the RR intervals in the record, divided by the number of RR intervals at a given time minus one RR interval. For this analysis, the initial two minutes of the recovery period will be considered, forming 4 analysis windows with 30 seconds each. The HR behavior will be recorded beat by beat throughout the experimental protocol, and before using the RR series captured for data analysis, a digital filtering complemented by manual will be performed, to eliminate premature ectopic beats and artifacts, and only series with over 95% of sinus beats will be included in the study.
