Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 35 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Male and female; age between 18 and 35 years; recreational practice in sports involving jumping; who have not had delayed onset muscle pain and ligament or muscle injuries in the lower limb in the last 6 months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Body mass index greater than 30 kg/m²; musculoskeletal and/or vestibular problems

MeasureTime frame
After core strength training, it is expected that the landing mechanics of multidirectional jumps will be beneficially altered. Our hypothesis is that during landing, after weeks of training, participants will exhibit greater trunk and knee flexion, as well as a reduction in knee abduction moment and valgus. These patterns would indicate that the training had a positive effect on ACL injury biomechanical patterns. We believe that after 5 weeks of training, we will find improvements in the movement patterns of multidirectional jumps, but this effect will be greater after 10 weeks of training. These results will be useful for physical therapists and fitness trainers and can be used in injury prevention protocols.
