Eligibility

Age
50 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age between 50 and 70 years old; 10 years or more of onset of diabetes; BMI less than 25 kg/m2; present a score above 3 on the scale of neuropathic impairments and symptoms

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals who use muscle relaxants; use of any walking device; Lower extremity orthopedic and dermatological problems; body mass index above 25Kg/m2; upper motor neuron lesion; foot ulcers; deep vein thrombosis; phlebitis; having a score of less than 3 on the scale of neuropathic impairments and symptoms

Design outcomes

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome 1 will be obtained through sensitivity assessment using the Semmes Weinstein Monofilament instrument; It is expected to find improvement in plantar sensitivity compared between groups and between times for the experimental group;Expected outcome 2 will be obtained by evaluating the distribution, plantar pressure and body sway using the Baropodometry and Stabilometry instrument; It is expected to find balance between the center of mass of the body and better distribution and pressure of the plantar areas in comparison between groups and between times for the experimental group;Expected outcome 3 will be obtained by evaluating the electrical activity of the muscle using the surface Electromyography instrument; It is expected to find a reduction in the electrical activity pattern of the analyzed muscles in comparison between groups and between times in the experimental group

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome 1 will be obtained through the evaluation of the Visual Analog Pain Scale; It is expected to find a reduction in the values ??obtained by the intensity of pain in comparison between the groups and between the times for the experimental group
