Convalescence after radiotherapy, oral mucositis, head and neck cancer

Interventions

Experimental group: Patients in this group (n = 25) will undergo laser therapy five times a week (from Monday to Friday) during radiotherapy treatment. The application of the laser will begin in the f
Ingestion of 1.5 liters of water and maintenance of good oral hygiene. In case of wounds, oral ointment based on hydrocortisone 5mg, neomycin 5mg, troxerrutin 20mg, ascorbic acid 0.5mg, benzocaine 2mg

Age
18 Years to 90 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Volunteers with more than 18 years. Both sexes. Toothed or edentulous. With cancer of the head and neck that will undergo radiotherapy (minimum dose of 50Gy) and chemotherapy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Volunteers with tumors of salivary glands or Sjogren's syndrome. Patients previously submitted to radiotherapy in the head and neck region or chemotherapy. Patients with lymphoma. Patients with melanoma. Patients with skin cancer.

Lower cost due to severe levels of oral mucositis (Degrees III and IV of the World Health Organization scale) the experimental group evaluated by appropriate statistical tests according to With the distribution of the data.
