Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| We expect to find differences in the vastus lateralis muscle cross-sectional area after 10 weeks of training, analyzed through ultrasonography, which will be verified by at least 0.25 (Cohen's F) of standardized pre-post mean differences.;We expect to find differences in maximal muscle strength after 10 weeks of training, analyzed through ultrasonography, which will be verified by at least 0.25 (Cohen's F) of standardized pre-post mean differences. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| We expect to find differences in the ribosomal content after 10 weeks of training through an immunohistochemistry analysis, demonstrated by at least 0.25 (Cohen's F) of standardized pre-post mean differences.;We expect to find differences in genetic expression after 10 weeks of training, through a transcriptomic analysis, which will be verified by at least 0.25 (Cohen's F) of standardized pre-post mean differences.;We expect to find differences in individual responses in strength and muscle mass gains after 10 weeks.;We expect to find differences in muscle cross-sectional area of muscle fiber after 10 weeks of training through an immunohistochemistry analysis, which will be verified by at least 0.25 (Cohen's F) of standardized pre-post mean differences.;We expect to find differences in the satellite cell and myonuclei content after 10 weeks of training, analyzed through an immunohistochemistry analysis, which will be verified by at least 0.25 (Cohen's F) of standardized pre-post mean differences.;We expect to find differences in muscle architecture, after 10 weeks of training, analyzed through ultrasonography (muscle thickness, pennation angle, and fascicle length), which will be verified by at least 0.25 (Cohen's F) of standardized pre-post mean differences. | — |
