Interventions

Control Group: 20 patients will carry out foot, leg and fascia plantar muscle stretching in 3 sets of 30 seconds for each exercise that will be performed daily
Intervention Group 1: 20 patients will carry out strengthening of the intrinsic and extrinsic muscles of the foot by elastic resistance for 3 sets of 10 repetitions, and with toe curl and short foot e

Age
18 Years to 60 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Plantar fasciitis; age between 18 and 60.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Report of previous surgery and trauma in the lower limbs; discrepancy greater than 1.25 centimeters (cm) between the lower limbs; having performed strengthening of the muscles of the ankle and hip, and physiotherapeutic intervention in the lower limbs within the last six months; diagnosis of fibromyalgia, neurological, musculoskeletal or systemic order disease that may predispose heel pain and decreased muscle strength.

Decrease of the patients' pain with the procedures performed, assessed using a visual analogue scale: The pain will be measured using a scale of 10 cm, with graduations from zero to 10, in which zero is no pain and 10 corresponds to the maximum possible pain.;Improvement of patients' functionality with the procedures performed, assessed using a Foot and Ankle Outcome Score questionnaire. This consists of five domains: pain, other symptoms (stiffness, swelling, crepitation and limitation of Range of Movement), daily activities, sports and recreation, and quality of life in relation to ankles and feet, taking the evaluation week into consideration.

Improvement of patients' medial longitudinal arch stabilization with the performed procedures, assessed using the Navicular drop and drift: this measures the vertical and horizontal distance of the navicular bone in relation to the ground in order to classify the subtalar joint in neutral, supination and pronation in relation to the measurements of difference between the positions, with and without weight bearing.;Improvement of the strength of patients' dorsiflexion, plantar flexion, invertor and evertor muscles of the ankle, abductor and lateral rotation muscles of the hip, and flexor muscles of the hallucis with the procedures carried out, measured using the Lafayate Manual Dynamometer®. In the evaluation of the proposed muscles, with the dynamometer positioned in the distal segment of the lower limb, the participant will be asked to perform three sets of maximum isometric contraction of the required muscle group for three seconds, and the average of these will be the final result.;Improvement of patients' dynamic balance with the procedures performed, assessed using the Star excursion balance test: This test measures dynamic balance. The volunteer will be positioned in the centre of three lines, which will be arranged at 90º between the two posterior lines and these at 135º from the bottom line. The patient will be instructed to reach as far as they can on each line, and the seventh attempt will be measured.
