Eligibility

Age
40 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: CCOPD patients; pulmonary function test values with forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1) / forced vital capacity (FVC) less than 0.7 and FEV1 less than 80% of predicted; associated with a history of drug treatment and signs and symptoms of COPD exacerbation; Typical HF signs and symptoms combined with a reduction in left ventricular (EF) fraction less than 50% by Doppler Echo, with forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1) / forced vital capacity (FVC) less than 0, 7 and lower FEV1 than 80% of the forecast).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Alcoholic patients and / or drug users who cause chemical dependency; patients using invasive mechanical ventilation; hemodynamic instability; presence of unstable angina; history of myocardial infarction in the last 6 months; patients who exacerbate again within the 30-day period.

Endothelial and cardiac autonomic function will be more committed at coexistence of the diseases (FMD and arterial stiffness and heart rate variability measures) than when compared to isolated COPD in exacerbation phase. And the application of noninvasive ventilatory support in this exacerbation phase results acutely in beneficial responses to the endothelial and cardiac autonomic function.
