Age
7 Years to 17 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children and adolescents aged 7:17 years; both genders; enrolled in elementary or middle school of municipal, state or private schools, urban or rural area, the municipality of Santa Cruz / RN; presenting scoliosis posture after physical therapy evaluation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children and adolescents with physical disabilities and / or mental injury and orthopedic, trauma and / or rheumatic preventing the maintenance of orthostatic position.

MeasureTime frame
Increased knowledge of students about the postural habits and correct to be adopted during activities of daily living (ADLs) posture; improved postural alignment evaluated by computerized photogrammetry, those students with scoliosis or postural changes.;No difference in learning the different postures during daily activities of school after shares of postural development was observed. Regarding the action of physical therapy intervention, there was no significant difference in body symmetry between the control and treatment, although there was maintaining the degree of scoliosis (or non-progression of scoliosis) in the treatment group.

Verification of increased paraspinal muscle strength measured by the dorsal hand dynamometer.;There was no difference in paraspinal muscle strength after intervention by comparing control and treatment group. However, the analysis before and after the treatment group, there was increased paraspinal muscle strength after the intervention.
