Age
50 Years to 85 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Fifty until eighty five years years; diagnosis of COPD;absence of exacerbation and stability of drug treatment in the last four weeks; - absence of rehabilitation in the last six months; mMRC (Modified Medical Research Counc) greater than or equal to two;low functional capacity verified by the results of six minutos step test and / or six minutes walk test (eighty percent or less of predicted value); cognitive impairment with language deficiency that impairs to understanding the verbal instructions.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Contraindications that dificult the proposed tests (ATS Statement 6MWT, 2002), being considered absolute unstable angina and myocardial infarction on previous months, arrhythmias, unstable blood pressure and BMI greater than 35 kg / m2; malignant cancer in treatment;orthopedic, rheumatic, neuromuscular and visual problems that make it impossible to walk and / or go up and down stairs.

Responsiveness of functional test - six minute walk test- before and after the intervention (rehabilitation);Responsiveness of functional test - one minute step test- before and after the intervention (rehabilitation);Responsiveness of Quality of life:The Saint George Respiratory Questionnaire (SQRQ)and COPD Assessment Test (CAT) (JONES et al., 2009) will be executed before and after the intervention (rehabilitation);Responsiveness of Physical Activity daily living (PADL): actígraph activPAL3TM (PAL Technologies Ltd., Glasgow, Reino Unido) will be fixed (Tegaderm-3M) in the middle of right thigh during seven days before and after the intervention (rehabilitation);Responsiveness of muscle strenght: Ten repetition maximum test: will be performed on diagonally of movement of the upper limbs with a free weight (POLLOCK & WILMORE, 1996) and measured of muscle quadriceps with dinamometer before and after the intervention (rehabilitation).;Responsiveness of Modified Medical Research Council (mMRC): Is as a questionnaire graduated 0 to 4 scores and the highter the score the worst the dispneia. (MAHLER et al., 1988) executed before and after the intervention (rehabilitation).
