Age
No minimum to 33 Weeks

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Premature babies with mothers older than 18 years of age; up to 33 gestational age; who were born at Maternidade Darcy Vargas from March 1 2020 to August 31 2022 whose mothers have signed the Free and Informed Consent Form

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Premature babies with congenital eye malformation; whose mothers have been supplemented with omega-3 and who have had infectious diseases

Evaluate the effect of oral oil drops of docosahexaenoic acid supplementation in the retinopathy of prematurity establishment, expect to find a reduction of 30% in the incidence of the ocular disease detected by indirect binocular ophthalmoscopy examnation after the use of docosahexaenoic acid

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Evaluate the effect of oral oil drops of docosahexaenoic acid supplementation in the sleep pattern of the babies using the Brief Infant Sleep Questionnaire (BISQ). Expect to find better outcomes of sleep in those babies whose used the docosahexaenoic acid
