Primary

MeasureTime frame
Expected outcome 1: We aim to find a higher proportion of pregnant women in the intervention group who do not exceed the weight gain limit according to the Institute of Medicine criteria defined for each pre pregnancy body mass index category. The maximum gain should be up to 16 kg for women with a body mass index higher than 18.5 and less than 25, up to 11.5 kg for women with a body mass index between 25 and 29.9, and up to 9 kg for women with a body mass index higher than 30. Gestational weight gain will be calculated by the difference between the weight at the beginning and at the end of the study. This difference will be compared between the control and intervention groups.
