Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Women aged 60 or over, living in Porto Alegre and who agree to participate in the study and who have signed the Free and Informed Consent Term.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: women with disabling diseases that prevent the performance of pilates exercises that have undergone gynecological surgery will be excluded, in order to initiate any type of structured and planned physical activity, in addition to those provided for in this protocol and that present genital prolapse above the second the POP-Q classification (Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification System).

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Average increase of 10% in the electromyographic response of the pelvic muscles' electrical activity, when comparing measurements made before and after the intervention.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
An average increase of 1 grade in the pelvic floor muscle function measured by the Ortiz scale when comparing measurements made before and after the intervention.
