Design outcomes

|---|---|
| It is expected that the association of inspiratory muscle resistance with upper limb isometric exercise modifies the acute hemodynamic response when compared with isolated isometric exercise, with this outcome verified through the measurement of heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and rate pressure product at rest and throughout the sets of isometric handgrip exercise, with the outcome considered present when minimum increments equal to or greater than seven beats per minute in heart rate, ten millimeters of mercury in systolic blood pressure, and five millimeters of mercury in diastolic blood pressure are observed, as well as differences in absolute values and delta values of these variables between experimental protocols, calculated as the difference between exercise and rest, in addition to the behavior of these variables across the exercise sets. It is expected that the association of inspiratory muscle resistance with upper limb isometric exercise modifies perceived exertion when compared with isolated isometric exercise, with this outcome verified through the application of the Borg perceived exertion scale from six to twenty during the different moments of the experimental protocols, with the outcome considered present when differences in perceived exertion scores are observed between protocols and across the exercise sets. | — |
