The present study aims to observe the hypoglycemic and cholesterol levels reducing effect in 40 employees who are able to participate freely and with consent in this research, where after ingestion o
and second, the test with glucose load, ingestion of herbal medicine and measurement of blood glucose and lipid profile.

Age
30 Years to 50 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Serving professionals at the Federal University of Tocantins/UFT located on the Palmas/TO campus who wish to take part in the research and comply with the TCLE; of both genders; aged between 30 and 50 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnant and lactating participants, due to the lack of evidence that the studied herbal medicine, even if natural, may pose a risk; people with diabetes or those who during screening have blood glucose levels higher than 99 mg/dL, as the tests are carried out with glucose administration; participants with a known history of food allergy to açaí or any derivative; any other personal reasons that prevent them from carrying out the proposed activities

Primary

MeasureTime frame
With the research results, we intend to observe improvements in the parameters of glycemia, total cholesterol and triglycerides in the participants who consumed the herbal infusion. Furthermore, seek a final destination for the seed, which after processing its fruit, becomes solid waste in the environment.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Continue research on açaí derived compounds and other fruits or plants from the cerrado and Amazon biome present in Tocantins, guided by popular knowledge, just as seen with açaí coffee.
