Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 89 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients in invasive mechanical ventilation for 72 hours.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Neuromuscular disease; stroke; multiple sclerosis; amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; myasthenia gravis; Guillain Barré; extubated within 48 hours.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Time reduction in mechanical ventilation of at least 24 hours in the ICU, verified by information contained in the medical record at baseline and end of study.;There was no decrease in the time on mechanical ventilation during ICU stay, verified by information contained in the medical record at baseline and end of study.
