Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Expected outcome: The objective of this randomized clinical trial was to evaluate the presence of postoperative pain in the endodontic treatment of teeth with apical periodontitis, using an irrigation protocol with 2.5% calcium hypochlorite (Ca(OCl)2) compared to 2.5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) as irrigating solutions. It is expected to find the same level of postoperative pain reported in patients undergoing treatment with the two substances tested over periods of 24, 48, 72h and 7 days using the VAS scale to measure the variable.;Outcome found: The same levels of postoperative pain reported in both groups were observed in the 24h, 48h, 72h and 7 day evaluation periods using the VAS scale. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Expected outcome: The aim of this randomized clinical trial was to evaluate the number of anti-inflammatory medication tablets used after endodontic treatment of teeth with apical periodontitis using an irrigation protocol with 2.5% calcium hypochlorite (Ca(OCl)2) compared to 2.5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) as irrigation solutions. We expect to find no statistically significant difference in the number of tablets used between the groups tested.;Outcome found: No statistically significant difference was found between the groups tested in relation to the intake of anti-inflammatory medication tablets. | — |
