Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All participants must meet the following requirements: healthy women aged 18 to 35; composed exclusively of women; untrained in resistance training (n=75), which is characterized by the absence of resistance training practice in the last 12 months; no recent history or evidence of abuse of legal or illegal psychoactive drugs; no use of any ergogenic aid (anabolic steroids within the last year; creatine within the last month; caffeine within the last 2 days; beta-alanine within the last 2 days; bicarbonate within the last 2 days; nitrate within the last 7 days)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants who withdraw will be excluded; as will those who suffer any type of injury during the data collection period; and participants who answer "YES" to any question on the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q)

An increase in muscle thickness is expected in the rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, vastus medialis, and gluteus maximus muscles, verified by ultrasound (USG), evidenced by a variation of at least 5% in pre- and post-intervention measurements;A marked increase in absolute training volume is expected in the PreEX group, compared to the other groups, as verified by the absolute training volume calculation method, evidenced by a variation of at least 5% in pre- and post-intervention measurements;A marked increase in maximum strength is expected in the Leg Press for the Trad group and in the Leg Extension for the PreEx and PreExE groups, verified by the 1 repetition maximum (1RM) test, evidenced by a variation of at least 5% in pre- and post-intervention measurements;A marked increase in muscle activation is expected for the Trad group, verified by surface electromyography (EMG), evidenced by a variation of at least 5% in pre- and post-intervention measurements
